A domain name is your store's address on the internet (e.g. www.example.com). To use a custom domain with your CubeCart store you will need to register one through a domain registrar and then point it to your store.
Choosing a domain name
Keep it short, memorable, and easy to spell. Avoid hyphens and numbers where possible. If your preferred .com is not available, common alternatives include .co.uk, .store, .shop, and .co.
Registering your domain
You can register a domain through any ICANN-accredited registrar. Some popular options are listed below. Prices typically start from a few pounds or dollars per year for a .com.
- Cloudflare — wholesale pricing with no markup
- GoDaddy — largest registrar, good for beginners
- Namecheap — competitive pricing with free WHOIS privacy
- IONOS — popular in Europe
- Hostinger — affordable with free privacy protection
- 123 Reg — popular UK registrar
- Dynadot — good for managing multiple domains
Pointing your domain to your store
Once registered, you will need to add a CNAME record with your registrar pointing to your store's mycubecart.com address. Please refer to our How do I add a CNAME record? article for full instructions.
Once your DNS has propagated, contact us and we will configure your custom domain within your hosting account.
